The Chairman, CEO and Board of Directors warmly welcome Professor Paul Cornish to the Steering Group of the ICSPA. Professor of International Security at the University of Bath, Paul will bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the already prestigious group responsible for the higher-level decision–making necessary to direct the progress of the ICSPA in achieving its mission.
Prior to his appointment at the University of Bath, Paul was Carrington Professor of International Security and Head of the International Security Programme at Chatham House from 2005 to 2011, having previously been Director of the Centre for Defence Studies at King’s College London from 2002 to 2005. He has taught at the University of Cambridge and at the Joint Services Staff College and has served in the Foreign and Commonwealth Office and the British Army.
His work covers national strategy, cyber security, the ethics of the use of armed force, arms control and non-proliferation, counter-terrorism and the future of international security. He is a member of the Chief of the Defence Staff’s Strategic Advisory Panel and is a frequent commentator on national and international media. He was educated at the University of St Andrews, the London School of Economics, the University of Cambridge and the Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst.
